ten counties throughout California. Many crop losses throughout the State can be attributed to weather related causes. Rosalind earned a BA degree from Sonoma State University in Environmental Studies & Planning (ENSP), with emphasis on agriculture and crop production. Between 1989 and 1993 Rosalind worked as an Agricultural Technologist for the Mendocino County Department of Agriculture. After leaving Mendocino County she took a position with the USDA Farm Service Agency as a Program …

If I was to vote on a bill which I haven’t read, I guess I’d have to vote against it. Wouldn’t you? Is it just me who feels “duh”?

  3. tsenzei says:

True, but you can’t really “sell” your old method of getting electricity to get the money (or collateral for a loan) to pay for the new investment.

yes I don’t see how the obligation certificate thing can go on for ever, especially if more people install them domestically.
It seems to me people can ‘afford’ to buy a new car (especially when the Gov’t give cash for your old one) so why not an energy system that SAVES money & is much more ‘affordable’? (because you already pay bills to energy corps & will save that)!
Seems to me if the Gov’t can pay you for your old gas guzzler, they’d do BETTER by giving you a grant for ‘renewable energy’!

Enron recognized the profiteering potential wheeling and dealing in Climate Management.
The groundwork had been laid well, not least by entering into relationships with scientists who,
Enron expected, would further its cause (James Hansen, the scientist who? more than any other is responsible for bringing the
possibility of climate-change catastrophe to the public, was among the scientists Enron commissioned)Enron saw the importance
in silencing the scientists who didnt accept the alarmism

Buid a nuclear plant next to McCain’s ranch in AZ, he’s already had cancer 3 or 4 times, what’s once more…he was all for nuclear plants, but probably not in his backyard…as usual.

Nuclear is dangerous, it produces dangerous waste, maybe we could give a big scoop of it to all the politicans to bring home. Such idiotic proposals, it’s insanity run amuck.

  9. tsenzei says:

Oh, I still think its worth it, even in CA, long term. The problem is that people can’t afford the initial costs here.

Also, we can also “sell back” to the grid as well. However we never get grants or aid for installing them (for private homes) unless there’s a tax-payed bond floated for businesses (which is usually a municipal deal).

  10. JOHNINCOLUMBUS says:

The special interests don’t want that, they will do ANYTHING to stop it.

  11. ejbh3160 says:

In the UK we get a ‘grant’ from government to install renewables. Once on the grid they pay you ‘Renewable Energy Obligation Certificates’ (which go towards their ‘targets’ for renewable energy) & you get paid for the energy you produce even if you use it yourself!
Even with the expensive electrician to put it in, it still pays for itself within 5 to 7 years which means you get ALL your money back in ’savings’ on energy bills.
    Thats a 15 - 20% return pa!
Show me another investment that good now.

  12. tsenzei says:

At least in California, there are basically prohibitively high expenses for installing solar and/or wind generators on private property (for middle and low income households), which are primarily generated by legislated restrictions. Basically, its too expensive because you are required to higher someone that costs to much to put in the panels/etc. while you’re hooked into the grid. Even though otherwise it would be affordable by many households.

I imagine its similar in other states.

  13. ejbh3160 says:

If you take into account mining Uranium & processing & turning into a ‘fuel’, the fact is that nuclear power is nowhere near CO2 neutral!! In fact its worse than many of the alternatives like solar & wind these days & of course for every nuke power station you build, you prevent billions in funds & resources from going into ‘Renewable’ energy.
Domestic energy could be basically FREE within 10 years if we all invested in a small renewable array for our homes.
The saving on bills pays for it!!
