You are taking this stuff way too literally man…waaaayyy to literal. Em made up the alter ego “slim shady” so he could change his rap style and rap with a more negative attitude…slim shady is ment to be all of his bottled up anger…he refers to him as a demon hence the “My darling” track. He’s not possesed he just used it as a metaphor. when he says “i sold my soul to the devil” he means in a lot of ways he has become slim shady…as well as the fact that he sacrificed a normal life for fame. And Proof was used for the video cuz he was his best friend. The way in which Proof actually died was different. Marshall Mathers is an artist…not a demon
Also the Slim Shady alter ego has become a tool to help show what he was like on drugs. Hence the song 3 a.m. That song is essentially about doing drugs…blacking out and not knowing what happend the next day…except em takes it to the extreme…because hes eminem…thats what hes done his entire career.
